The first all-metal prototype, made in 2021 on a manual milling machine

I’ve been waiting for this since 2021: the day the Dead Edge can be shown off in public. From initial prototypes made with drawer slides, to one made on a manual mill, to dozens of 3d printed drafts, it’s been a long journey. But we’ve FINALLY made it to a full production-ready, patent pending, Dead Edge honing guide.

I have been using and testing versions of the Dead Edge in secret for years now. No joke, all of my other honing guides have been rotting in a drawer ever since that first functional prototype came off the milling machine.

Now we can start getting this thing into people’s hands for testing and feedback.

There is still a long road to go until we can make it available for sale, but I can’t tell you how excited I am to FINALLY share this with everyone.
